Happy Birthday Boyfriend!
Yay! Today is your birthday and I'm so glad I was able to spend it with you! You are one of the most amazing things in my life and for that I am truly thankful for this day. It's also the day four years ago that you asked me out to dinner your birthday. Who knew we'd end up having a lot more to celebrate on this day =)

SF/Sonoma Wedding Weekend
Boyfriend's cousin got married over the weekend which meant family reunion and trip to SF and Sonoma! We all flew in from different areas (Boston, Philly, LA, OC, New York, and Chicago) around the same time. The adults stayed in the City for his other cousin's birthday dinner while all the kids went out to Sonoma for the rehearsal dinner at the estate the bride and groom had gotten for the weekend. Here we are going over the Golden Gate bridge! I always take the Bay bridge so this was my first time. It was a bit foggy.
It took a little while to get out to Santa Rosa where we were all staying and then a bit longer to the estate. We were quite a bit late but luckily the dinner was very informal. The bride and groom cooked AMAZING food. I would swear it was catered if I didn't see them grilling myself. The estate was huge and even comes with a dog and cat... I know, right? Sorry I forgot to take pics since we were all excited meeting new people and catching up with everyone. After the dinner, we were all going to a brewery but decided to stop at Safeway to stock up on snacks and water for our rooms. We all had a bit too much fun at the market taking pictures and enjoying all the aisles. Here's boyfriend with his jug of water.
The wine aisle was quite extensive - as it should be since we were in wine country. Pictured are the cousins in deep thought trying to pick the appropriate wine. See, I told you we had way too much fun. Maybe you had to be there.
After we hit up the brewery for a little bit and then called it a night after a beer or two. We had a big Saturday planned so off to bed we went. The next morning we had brunch at a nearby cafe (more on that in my next food post). Then we went wine tasting! On a recommendation from years ago, I suggested my favorite sparkling winery, J.
We all did a bit of wine tasting. And they also had a cheese tasting that weekend. I tried a few sparklings, a white, a red, and a liqueur. In the end, I went home with a sparkling rose since I love a bit of bubbly.
After we walked around Healdsburg and had some lunch. Then it was time to head back to the hotel to get ready for the wedding. Here's boyfriend at me at the wedding. How cute are we. Hah! It was a bit windy, but still nice. How gorg is his cousin and her new hubby! Quite the lovely ceremony.
Boyfriend's dad, me and boyfriend in the tasting room before dinner. Amazing hors devours and yummy drinks. They even had a fabulous signature cocktail!
The dinner was held is the barrel room with one lonnnng table. The table was soooo beautiful! It was very intimate and the food was so yummy. As well as wine paired. We tried to keep up with the pairs and as soon as I was almost caught up, I'd get in a conversation and then magically my glasses would be filled again. Good/bad, you decide.
The next day we all checked out and headed back to the city. It was a beautiful day going back into the city and this time the Golden Gate was sunny!
Back in the city, boyfriend and I decided to have lunch at the ferry market building before I had to drive him to the airport. I love the ferry market building! Too bad it wasn't Saturday but it was still fun. Love all the little shops and I always want to eat everything.
Boyfriend had to fly back to Philly for work while I stayed an extra day to visit with my sorority big sis! Lil sis was supposed to meet up with us but the highway she takes to the city was closed because of a huge accident so it was just my big and me for the day. Overall, super trip to SF. Beautiful weekend! Great family time. Next post: all the yummy things I ate (well most of them, I sometimes get too excited I forget to take a picture.)

Wednesday => Catching Up Day
-flew back from SF on Monday
-worked on my project Tuesday
-call Tuesday night, failed my project 2 (ok not completely, just mostly - so now a re-do in the works but I'm really disappointed over it)
-Wednesday catching up on TV, laundry, packing, errands, blogging, school
So I'm flying out to Chicago for boyfriend's birthday, our 4 year anniversary (eeeeeek!), and helping him finally move into his new apt. So not only am I packing for a rainy Chicago weekend, but I'm also supposed to bring him a bunch of his stuff. What a super girlfriend I am, no? Anyway, I'm trying to get over the devastation of my failed project and rethink it up so I can re-do it and my next project (based off of this project) for next Tuesday. I have 2 blogs drafted so hopefully I can get those published in the next day or so because I knowwww you're dieeeeeing to find out about my weekend. Or not. It's ok.

buzz buzz buzz
I've been such a busy bee and there's no break in sight. Since I'm fully aware of the lack of attention bloggy has been getting I thought I'd leave a note in case anyone might wonder of my whereabouts. Been busy trying to stay ahead in my classes since I've got a busy few weeks. Went to LACMA last weekend because we're supposed to go for class this weekend but instead I'll be in SF/Sonoma! Boyfriend was in town (again) last weekend and ended up staying an extra day because he was sick. Shopped all day with my oldest friend and in two weeks I'll be in Chicago again. That sums a lot up in random order since everything in my life is currently quite disorderly. Anywho, hopefully a better post soon. Excited I get to see my sorority big and lil in the city this weekend! Been spending way too much money at Target lately. sigh...

Second Quarter in Full Swing!
I'm deep in week two and loving it. Thought it was going to be more overwhelming but it hasn't been too bad so far. Here's a few pics from week one of my design communication class. Nothing too crazy. It's the first of three classes for architectural drafting essentially. Plus working on my artistic sketching ability.
It's all about the basics! This was just a piece on line quality in regards to light to dark weights and having good printing skills. Nothing crazy.
OK so I'm really not much of an artist. I was decent as a child, occasionally doing well in art class but I really haven't drawn much since I was oh, 10? So we had to do self portraits. I used a technique learned last quarter in elements of design to draw myself from a picture. I wouldn't consider it cheating but I would say rather it made me use more of the left side of my brain to create the picture side the right side of my brain is somewhat inadequate in comparison to others. Let's just say I hope I look better in person =). But my professor was pleased and had only a few remarks in regards to bettering it.
For my elements of design II class, we're focusing on 3D whereas last quarter was 2D work. So for project 1 we played around with some note cards and explored the beauty of folds. Essentially we made four groups of three cards: each card in the group having one fold in the first card, two folds in the second card, and three folds in the third card. Then we played around with the cards and took pictures of them from different angles. It's a bit complicated to describe but really simple to do. So instead of showing you all 57 pictures, I'll just show you one.
This was from the last group of pictures where we glued the three cards together in an interesting way and then did the same exact thing to two other sets and put them together to create this cute little sculpture. So my next few projects build upon this project which I'm sort of excited for. I was a bit intimidated the first day when our teacher showed up portfolios of the projects we will be doing this quarter. But I'm also excited because I know completing these projects successfully will feel really good too. =)

whine whine whine, mmMm a glass on wine would be nice.
My posts tend to be on the happier side, noting the fun things going on in my life. OK fun to me, boring to others. So really, my tagline referencing the annamosity which is just a play on on the word animosity, doesn't seem applicable. But more often than not there's something going on in my life that's really annoying and bothersome but I just don't feel the need to share it daily on my blog. But that doesn't mean I won't. And currently, these situations are annoying me... 1) my mother and her need to act like she's 5 years old. Sometimes, I feel like she's just being a bad mother with her need to get attention and I know it's just going to end up with her saying how everyone in the family hates her. And then my father has to tell me to be grown up about it and just make nice so she'll get over it and he can live peacefully. It's always me... Just [wo]man up and realize you were wrong. Stop being pouty so dad won't keep calling me. 2) This secret (ok not so secret if he reads my blog anyway) resentment for boyfriend when I want to tell him something (that's usually dumb so if I don't tell him now, it'll be even more dumb later so by the time I get around to talking to him, it's just not even sort of funny anymore and I won't have the same excitement telling it so there's no point) but I can't because he's unavailable 2000-3000+ miles away. I'm dumb. 3) I don't get anything done and that just depresses me. I also tend to stare at my project that really needs like just 30 more minutes of solid work but I've been within working distance of it for oh 3 hours? And I've done 2 minutes of work in between checking emails, reading blogs, and online shopping. 4) I don't have any cute pictures of me. *sigh*
wha wha wha ok I'm done. I think I'm ready for the weekend. And a large glass of wine. Too bad it's only 1:30... Yes, I currently have standards.

Easter Weekend!
Hope everyone had a good weekend. Boyfriend flew in from Philly. He's been working there for a few days and will be there this week too. So for the weekend his company lets him travel wherever so he decided to make a trip home since he hasn't been back since the big move. So Friday night I went to LAX to pick him up. His plan was a few minute delayed so I got acquainted with circling the airport. After he got his stuff and we went to his parents house in LA and then to a late night dinner. After we came back and hung out a bit before bed. The next morning we had coffee with his parents and then came back to the house where he helped with parents with some stuff while I worked on my sketchbook projects for class. After we went to get dumplings at Din Tai Fung. Ughhh sooo good and since we went with his parents, that meant ordering like 5 additional dishes beyond what we'd order just for me and him. Everything was so good and I was sooo full by the end of the meal. Then we headed down to OC for the night. It was just a relaxing evening. The dog went nutso over him being back. He rested while I finished up the sketchbook. Then we went to sleep. Sunday we were planning on stopping at South Coast Plaza before Urban family brunch but since it was Easter, most things were closed. So we headed to starbucks and waited for a few stores at Metro Pointe across the street to open. After browsing a bit we headed to brunch at Break of Dawn in Laguna. I had heard tons of good things about this and all the stories were true. Sooo goood. I love breakfast but I have been finding it hard to find a decent place for a unique breakfast. I've been a bit tired over Plums Cafe so this was very refreshing. I had the creme brulee french toast. Usually I don't go for the sweets but I felt like I couldn't pass this up. I happen to love creme brulee so this made it extra delicious. It was a cinnamon raisin brioche with caramel-chocolate sauce on top of mexican chocolate and coconut custard with brulee-d sugar on top. OMG so good. The combination of soft-eggy bread with the crunchiness of the creme brulee was soo amazing.
Boyfriend had the eggs benedict. He thought it was pretty good. Not the best ever (I think Plum's still wins in this category) but it was still yummy.
Two poached eggs on potato bread with smoked ham and an asian pesto hollandaise. Soooo delish. The potatoes were cooked so perfectly and had a great seasoning. The rest of the family got yummys also including the mac and cheese and vietnamese meatloaf. All delicious. Can't wait to come back.
After brunch we headed to Trader Joe's to do some family shopping. I've been living off the cookies and chocolate powerberries I bought. Sooo addicting. Plus I've been having this awful sweet tooth lately that I've been finding the need to satisfy. We then headed to the Irvine Spectrum to check out the few open stores and enjoy the sunny mild day. I ended up stocking up on a bunch of colorful basics at F21. It's nice to walk out of a store with 10 things for about $60. Then we headed back to my house, rested, and headed back to his parents house to go out to dinner. We had shabu shabu and amazing sashimi and a nearby Japanese restaurant. It was quite amazing. I think I really should had titled this Eating Weekend instead of Easter Weekend. After I dropped boyfriend back off at LAX for his red eye to Philly. He'll be back this weekend so I'm excited for this week to go by.
